Marjorie Shepherd

it’s a little confusing…

My name is Brittney -- not Maxine, but you can call me that if you’d like. Think of Maxine Shepherd as my pseudonym or alter ego.

Maxine Shepherd was created as a tribute to my grandmothers, Maxine Allen and Marjorie Shepherd, who are the spirit behind the work that I do.

Marjorie was an amazing artist with a beautifully eccentric personality. She taught me everything I know about art and was the one who introduced me to graphic design. Knowing the boredom creatives can suffer after doing the same thing for too long, she always encouraged me to pursue new things – so this is my small way of honoring her.

Fun Fact: The ‘M’ in the Maxine Shepherd logo is from her actual signature she signed all of her artwork with.

A little more about me…

I know you don’t want to read some long-winded bio that I dont’t want to write, so here’s a few a bullet points:

  • I’m based out of Austin, TX and have been doing Graphic Design and Marketing for more than 10 years

  • While I have just about done it all at this point, my main expertise consists of:

    • Packaging & Label Design

    • Illustration

    • Logo Design

    • Poster/Flyer/Menu Design

    • Photo Editing/Retouch/Restoration

  • Other passions: My family and dogs. I also enjoy music of all genres and decades, scary sci-fi stories, and anything strange or unusual; I especially love when I can combine those with something creative.
